100 stone project.

The 100 stone project is an installation at Point Woronzof in Anchorage, Alaska.  It is a site specific installation that has taken on many shapes since its placement in November 2015. To experience this piece one has to engage with the surroundings by trekking down a snowy hill and landing on an arctic beach of ice chunks that made it to shore out of the fast flowing inlet.  To stand among these life size nameless faces that are decaying in the elements the message is clear… depression surrounds all of us and though it may not have a voice it is there.  I found great hope amongst the decay in these sculptures… I thought about the storms that have passed through, the earthQuake that jostled us last weekend and they remain… perhaps not in their original placement or state but there they are  collectively enduring…
