Maximizing Event Swag Impact: Premium Experiences and Sustainable Choices

In the journal today… our Tuesday Tip this week!

Event Swag is a conversation that comes up no matter what kind of event it is… Weddings, Galas, Mitzvahs, Corporate, or Multi Day Events. I hear the same comments and concerns repeatedly: I don’t want to add to the landfill + how many tote bags do we really need are the top two. We have created so many pre event mailers, gift bags and give aways over the years I can tell you how long it takes to stuff hundreds of bags, if it were an Olympic sport team Quade would definitely be a contender!

My Top Tips for Swag: 1. Is it meaningful? how does it tie into your event and does it speak to you/ your event or brand? 2. BUDGET! This is a line item that is always overlooked… good swag isn’t cheap. Looking for more ECO friendly useable items that won’t get tossed in a landfill? Good gifts are going to add up when you take into consideration the number of guests. 3. Premium ticket holders or elevated experience swag – this is a good option for gala style events where guests can opt for a higher tier ticket to attend that includes a swag bag. This also reduces the number of swag/favors that need to be created and gives it an exclusivity for the premium ticket holders. 4. DITCH THE FAVORS! Social events are lovely and we have the photos to remember them, do we need the glass with your friends wedding date and initials on it too? Instead allocate the budget for the favors and choose a non profit to make a meaningful contribution. Let your guests know that in lieu of favors you have made a contribution to a non profit via wedding website, and signage at the event. Invite your guests to also make a contribution!
